Tom Jordan

Tom graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in 2012 with a Master of Osteopathy degree. This included over 1000 hours of clinical experience, including time in a General Medical Practice, the Expectant Mothers Clinic, the Sports Clinic, and in the Chapman Clinic (for those with HIV/Aids), as well as the Manna Clinic in a homeless centre.

Tom developed an interest in posture, balance and body mechanics through practicing martial arts, which led him to osteopathy. He’s also a keen cricketer, and has experience treating sports injuries. However, Tom's interested in treating all sorts of patients from teenagers to the elderly, sporty or otherwise, and treats many office workers as well as people in manual trades.

Tom has specialist and postgraduate training in:

  • Injury prevention in runners
  • Hip problems in sports people
  • Shoulder problems
  • Pregnancy and childbirth
  • Gentle manipulation techniques
  • Cranial osteopathy

He also organises and attends talks for local osteopaths, including:

  • Osteopathy in professional cycling (from the osteopath for Team Movistar)
  • Treating tendinopathies in sports people
  • Sports taping

As well as treating sports injuries, Tom also offers sports massage.

Sports massage

Massage helps  through a combination of mechanical, physiological, neurological and psychological processes, and the interaction between all these. The combined effect is more important than each individual element.
