Shiatsu

Shiatsu involves applying gentle but powerful pressure, stretches and joint rotations, which aim to ease any areas of tension and improve the flow of energy in the body. It is usually practiced on the floor on a futon, though a massage table or even a chair can also be used for a client’s comfort. Each shiatsu session is an hour long and will be an individual response to your specific needs and diagnosis.

The aim of shiatsu is to rebalance body energy and so promote your well being, support good health and prevent illness. The therapy provides a deeply relaxing experience and is an effective treatment for a wide range of conditions, from specific injuries and long-term poor health to more day-to-day symptoms such as fatigue and stress. Shiatsu is an effective treatment for muscular and body structure issues such as back pain or joints and posture, low energy and anxiety, digestive issues, menstrual pain, breathing problems and blood pressure issues.

Everyone reacts differently to a treatment, but typically clients report feeling deeply relaxed, with less tension and pain. Often sleep patterns improve following a session. Over time with several sessions, you may experience beneficial changes in physical, mental and emotional well being.
