Yoga for Pregnancy
Yoga and breathing awareness can help you towards a more relaxed and enjoyable pregnancy. Many of the yoga positions I teach are similar to birthing positions. This weekly gentle movement and stretching class will increase your strength and suppleness in preparation for the challenges of labour and motherhood. The benefits of this positive approach will also extend to your emotional well being and this can help you to focus more deeply on your pregnancy.
Weekly attendance is recommended from the 16th week of your pregnancy. Classes can be attended until your baby is born.
"I felt so relaxed after the class;it was the best night's sleep I had all week."
"This class was so empowering for me. I learnt to trust my instincts. All the movements and positions we practiced every week just made sense in labour so that I was able to get comfortable and use my breathing."
"It's more than just a yoga class; there's so much information and the chance to be with other pregnant women in a way that makes my pregnancy feel normal and not medical."
Birth Preparation Workshop
This one day practical workshop focuses on the woman's needs during labour and the role of her birth partner. The emphasis will be on normal physiological birth with lots of practical work on labour/birthing positions, massage and breathing awareness. This day will complement NHS and other classes and is a useful refresher for those expecting another baby.
Recommended in the last two months of pregnancy.
"The yoga & breathing helped enormously & the workshop helped both Stuart and I feel more in control than we might have."
Iona Malcolm mother of Ruaridh
"This just gave me the confidence I needed just to do it! The massage really made a difference to my back. Pascal suggested one of the positions we had practiced at the workshop when it came to pushing her out & it worked!"
Jennifer Leonard mother of Eloise.
