Training
Jian studied for five full years in Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. She studied Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and also Western Medical Science. After being awarded the Bachelor Degree of Medical Science in 1990, she worked in the university hospital, where she practised acupuncture and herbal medicine and became a qualified Doctor of TCM.
Acupuncture
The aim of acupuncture is to regulate the meridians of the body and unblock the stagnation of Qi or Vital Energy, as when Qi becomes blocked or deficient we feel unwell physically and emotionally.
Acupuncture is usually performed with needles (disposable and very fine). Various methods of manipulating needles can apply to create subtle sensations.
TuiNa
TuiNa is a specific form of acupressure massage using pressure, deep manipulation and a variety of other approaches to promote Qi and blood flow, which in turn helps to address a whole range of presenting disharmonies. There is no essential difference from acupuncture in terms of philosophy and principles and it is very often used in conjunction with other treatment.
Chinese Herbal Medicine
Herbal medicine is another key component in Chinese medicine and works on the same theories and principles. Careful weighing of proportions in a formula of over 400 Chinese Herbs after a through diagnosis is crucial to achieve the best healing results.
