What is Naturopathy?
Naturopathy is a holistic approach to healthcare. Understanding the fundamentals, that the body has the ability to heal itself and maintain a sense of equilibrium to prevent disease and ill health.

A Naturopath's aim is to find the cause of an ailment and treat the person as a whole and not just the disease, therefore the use of herbal medicine, diet, nutrition, vitamins, minerals, flower essence and stress management techniques are employed to achieve a sense of well being.

Beneficial for:

  • Constipation and diarrhoea
  • IBS and digestive complaints
  • Food intolerance and sensitivities
  • Menstrual disorders and infertility
  • Chronic fatigue syndrome
  • Depression and anxiety
  • Arthritis and inflammatory conditions
  • Chronic systemic conditions

What is Functional Testing?
Individuals may require more investigative methods to determine their health complaint. The tests offered include food intolerance test, homocysteine test, woman's hormonal profile test and adrenocortex stress profile. These may be recommended within a Naturopathic consultation. These tests are supplied by Yorktest and Great Smokies Laboratories.

What is Iridology?
Iridology is a diagnostic tool used to observe the iris of the eye to have a greater understanding of an individual's health from within. It is often used along with a Naturopathic consultation or as a consultation alone

What is Hopi Ear Candling?
Hopi Ear Candling employs the use of specially designed candles for ear and head problems. It works by a gentle vacuum motion of drawing debris and wax from the ear and creating a balance of equilibrium in the auditory and sinus canals.

Beneficial for:

  • Sinusitis
  • Glue ear
  • Auditory pressure changes
  • Excessive wax
  • Tinitus
  • Headaches

What is Sports and Remedial Massage?
Sports and Remedial massage are deep tissue massages that employ techniques including stretching, isolated muscular release and gentle manipulation to achieve deep relaxation.

Sports massage uses high friction techniques to bring relief from exercise or to prepare the muscular tissue for activity.

You will also be given after care advice about hydrotherapy and appropriate exercises and stretching.

Beneficial for:

  • Back, neck and shoulder pain and strain
  • Muscular tension and stress
  • Repetitive strain injury (RSI)
  • Pre and post sporting events
  • Restricted flexibility
  • Referred pain
