Patrick Harding BSc.DO.ND.
Patrick is the Principle Osteopath at Mulberry House and he set up Mulberry Osteopaths in 1999. He studied in London at the British College of Naturopathy and Osteopathy (BCNO) and qualified in 1989. He has been practising in Edinburgh since 1996 and is also one of the Mulberry House Directors.
Osteopathy is a safe and natural therapy which focuses on the framework of the body consisting of the bones, ligaments, muscles and connective tissues. Osteopaths assess the condition of this musculo-skeletal system looking for areas of weakness, imbalance and excessive strain. These potential problem points in the system determine how well the body functions and therefore have an influence on general health.
All ages can benefit from Osteopathic treatment, from the new-born with colic or sleeping problems to the 90 year old with arthritis or osteoporosis. Whatever the age group appropriate treatment techniques can be used to suit the individual.
Osteopaths are best known for the successful treatment of low back problems but they can also help with many other conditions. Osteopathy can help with arthritis and asthma, digestive problems and chronic fatigue, as well as the more obvious sports injuries, headaches, sprains and strains.
We have a particular interest in pregnancy related problems ranging from straightforward back pain to symphysis pubis dysfunction (SPD) and carpal tunnel syndrome to optimal foetal positioning.
