Eilidh Macdonald Harte is a psychotherapist working in Edinburgh with adults. Her approach is integrative and person-centred, drawing primarily from psychodynamic and neurobiological understandings of trauma to create a therapeutic space where healing, recovery, growth, and change can occur.

Eilidh believes that therapy is as individual as the person who steps into the therapy room. Each therapeutic relationship is a partnership, and the work together becomes a unique co-creation tailored entirely to what you need. She works at your pace, led by your needs, holding deep respect for your lived experience and believing that you are the expert on your own journey.

Eilidh creates a safe, confidential space where building trust, respect, and genuine care are central to the therapeutic relationship. Here, you can experience being truly seen, accepted, and supported to find your path forward. Her role is to help your inner wisdom unfold and discover new ways of being that feel authentic and sustainable.

Working together, you discover what combination of approaches, insights, and experiences creates the conditions for you to recover, heal, and grow. This might involve exploring unconscious patterns that influence your choices and relationships, understanding how your past continues to shape your present, developing deeper self-awareness and self-acceptance, or processing difficult emotions and experiences at your own pace.

As an EMDR therapist, Eilidh offers Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing for clients whose difficulties stem from traumatic experiences. EMDR is an evidence-based approach that helps the brain process difficult memories that have become 'stuck' in our physiology. Through bilateral stimulation - typically gentle eye movements or tapping - EMDR helps integrate these experiences so they no longer carry the same emotional charge or disruptive power in daily life. This work is always done at your pace, within the established therapeutic relationship, and only when you feel ready.

Eilidh works with people experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions, grief and loss, trauma, and the general challenges of being human in an often-difficult world. She also works with those seeking personal development and deeper self-understanding. Whatever brings you to therapy, she believes in your capacity for growth and change, holding faith in your resilience and ability to heal, adapt, and flourish.

As a clinical supervisor, Eilidh provides professional support to other therapists and counsellors, helping them reflect on their practice and continue developing their therapeutic skills.

Sessions are typically 60 minutes and held weekly, though frequency can be adjusted based on what works best for your situation. EMDR sessions are 60-90 minutes. Eilidh works from Mulberry House in Edinburgh, offering both in-person and online sessions as appropriate to your needs.
